I reckon you’ll find a lot of drummers use their leg rather than their foot. Gives a harder punch, if you haven’t been formally trained to use your foot appropriately, which I havent. I use my leg from the knee down and have never had any problems.

@Buddha117 That clarifies why you’re using your entire leg to use the bass drum pedal. Gives you back problems later in life if you keep up with it. I suggest using your foot, not your entire leg.
Force yourself not to. I used to permanently pull really fucked up drumming faces. But when I practice, I thought about it and concentrated on it when I was drumming. No more gay face
