    I don’t see a difference?

    They both sound like crap.

  • torijcat says:

i agree, i reckon that they are trying to sound like the beatles

  • Metallica Junkie says:

BWAHAHAHA Khat, my thoughts just so, but i was gonna word it differently!

I liked A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out MUCH more that Pretty Odd. I honestly didn’t delight in Pretty Odd at all. Idk, this is just my opinion, but I reckon they changed it because Pretty Odd is in a style that is more appealing to a larger crowd. more people like it = more fans = more money.

I reckon they realized how the sound & style of their first album was being overdone. Maybe they wanted to be more original.

    and pretty odd
    is like a older version
so like there older and more maturee
    and they found there sound
also maybee they were just reinventing themselvess
    i looooove bothhhhh soundsssss!

It went with them changing their “!” point. They wanted to see if they could become a different band and make twice the amount of cash.

  • Mr. Wildflowers says:

Someone gave ‘em a copy of Sgt. Pepper and access to Abbey Road Studios.

  • ??? ThiNk HaPpy ThoughtS ??? says:

I reckon it’s because they thought “We don’t want to have an album that sounds just so like our other one” so they thought they’d try a different style.
I liked it.. but not as much as i like a fever.

The thing that pissed me off though was when they dropped the exclamation mark.
    Dude. that was NOT cool.

  • Kelzoo says:

i guess they want to make their mark as a ‘serious’ band…i reckon they are exhausted of being a ‘boy band’ and of dealing with all those teenies
i guess i can know their situation…you really only have one chance to ‘make it huge’ and ‘immortalize’ yourself you don’t want to be remembered as that band with really cute hot guys. but i reckon they could’ve made a fever you can’t sweat out serious…maybe they could’ve been kind of like the killers or radiohead (eerie but deserving of respect). they marketed themselves so terribly with the emo image bc afycso wasn’t even emo.

to all the people that are saying they want to make more money: that’s ridiculous. pretty. odd. does not appeal to a larger crowd obviously. they sound like the beatles first off, which the common audience does not need. we already had a “beatles” we need a “panic” also if i were their producer or whatever i would have stuck to the ancient sound to play it safe. pretty odd did not sell as well as afycso because of many reasons. they’re target audience has shifted dramatically which means you are leap to lose fans. i see pretty odd as a very bold and daring go..i see it as bavery to make music that they like not as a sell out

  • Kiss My Sass says:

Because they wanted to change their style: it happens with a lot of bands.
Maybe they wanted to try something different/more serious.

And anyone who says “Oh, they’re such try-hards and sell-outs, they’re just trying to be the Beatles.”
Well, of course, that’s the whole point! But, so were/are so many other bands. Get over it?
