Can someone help me understand how to play northern downpour by panic at the disco?

bυt іt doesn’t mаkе sense. i want tο know thе strumming pattern οr i need a one thаt sounds rіght! Hеlр PLEASE!

    Hold an E Maj chord
    You’re vacant to strum 7 times, down only, but not all the way to the first string, only go about 1/2 down. On the 3rd and 7th strum, you go the whole way down.
    Repeat with an A Maj chord
    It should be like- boom boom BOOM boom boom boom BOOM
    I do a quick up-down linking switching chords

    This sounds so confusing!!! I’m no excellent at explaining! I’m vacant to try and upload a video to show you.
